Policies for Rental Equipment

Does our weekly rental time include shipping time?
No you have the radar equipment to use for the full 7 days specified on your rental agreement. Rental agreements can be download from the panel at the bottom left.

Can the equipment be rented for less than a week?
You can ship the equipment back at any point but we do not discount or refund. All rates are based on a weeks rental period considering that with shipping time I may not have the unit for 2 to 3 weeks.

Who pays for shipping and how much is it?
We pay for ground shipping to you. As the renter you pay for all return shipping costs and insurances. Since we ship from New York state, East Coast shipping can take a few days west coast can be up to 5 business days. I also offer expedited service at an added cost.

When would a rental be considered over-due?
After your 7 days of use you are required to ship the unit back the next business day. I generally wait 5 business days after your rental date to get the units back. After that you would be charged for another week unless the unit wasn't received due to ship service error. I do not pro-rate by day as a late returning unit may cause an issue with the units next contracted renter. In the event that the equipment is not returned at the contracted time you will be charged for extended weeks to the credit card on the rental agreement and if there is no contact concerning the return of the overdue equipment then you will be charged for the entire replacement price. If equipment is returned after this you will be pro rated a credit based on the actual weeks in your posession.

How do we ship the units back?
It is important to keep the boxes and shipping containers the units come in. The equipment is well traveled and box conditions may vary but all equipment is sent with bubble wrap or die-cut foam. You can contact UPS or FED EX for a pick-up or take the return to a ship center. It is important that you insure the radar gun equipment for $1500 to protect you against damage or loss in shipment.

What happens if equipment is not working when received?
Equipment arriving damaged is rare but it can not always be avoided. All equipment is tested prior to shipment and it is VERY important that you test equipment as soon as it's received to confirm it arrived in proper working order. This is noted in your rental agreement. When possible I send equipment to arrive days before your need by date to insure I can replace any items damaged in shipment (early arrival does not count against your 7 day usage time). You must contact me immediately if there is a problem. Often it's just a simple fix. If the problem can not be resolved and I do not have a spare item to expedite to you in time then you will be refunded fully. However, if you have a problem at any time during your rental and you do not attempt to contact me or you have non working equipment that was not tested immediately upon arrival you may not be refunded. To be clear, if you show up to your event without testing and the equipment doesn't work, you likely will not get refunded.

Do we get any assistance with our rental?
Gladly- I am generally available by phone or email during normal business hours and often will answer the phone on weekends. If you leave a message I will call you back at any hour necessary to answer your questinons and assist in your set-up as needed.

Are there discounts for multi-week rentals?
If you rent the unit for 3 weeks the 4th is free. That is all I offer at this time and the discount must be arranged in advance.

How do we know the equipment is accurate?
We only rent you the best professional Stalker radar units. All equipment is tested with a tuning fork for accuracy prior to shipment and each unit has a self test button you can check.

Do we need electricity?
When renting just the hand held radar guns they will come with a battery pack or battery handle and charger. However, when radar guns are rented with an external display the display will require standard 110v power that will power both the gun and display.

How easy are the guns to operate
The units do have a number of keypad settings on the back but generally you just power up the gun, point and shoot. You can adjust different mode settings and range settings if necessary but within 15 minutes you should have a clear understanding of it's use. We email a PDF the manual with your rental.
